Some kids spend 7 to 9 hours a day looking at screens.
That's as much time as school plus homework. Picture a school day — then picture all of it happening on a screen.
More screen time, especially very early in life, tends to go together with slower talking skills and worse sleep. One big study in Japan found this pattern in babies who watched a lot at age one.
Two honest notes. Those studies can't prove screens caused the problems — a stressed home might drive both. And hours alone say little. A video call with grandma is not the same as five hours of cartoons.
