Subscriptions are designed to be easy to start and easy to forget.
This challenge is deliberately small: cancel just one subscription you’re not using.
Pick something you haven’t used in the last month (or that you’d never re-buy today). Streaming, an app, a “free trial” that turned paid, a delivery membership—anything counts.
A simple way to find candidates:
- Scan your last 1–3 months of bank/credit card statements for repeating charges.
- Check the subscription lists inside your app stores (they often show active renewals).
If you subscribed on Android through Google Play, you can cancel (or pause, when available) directly in Google Play’s subscription settings.
When you cancel, notice two things:
- Did you feel any resistance ("maybe I’ll need it")?
- If you keep it, what would you need to do to actually use it?
You’re not trying to become a different person this month. You’re just making one recurring cost visible—and then choosing.
