Name One Feeling

Once today, pause and put a single, specific word to what you’re feeling—without trying to fix it.

Name One Feeling

Pick one moment today—any moment.

Stop and ask: “What am I feeling right now?”

Then name just one feeling word. That’s it.

A few notes to keep it simple:

  • Aim for a specific word when you can (e.g., “disappointed,” “uneasy,” “relieved”), not only “good/bad.”
  • If you’re not sure, that counts too: “confused” or “numb” are real labels.
  • You’re not trying to solve the feeling. You’re practicing noticing it.

If you want a starter list, scan a feelings list and pick the closest match. Over time, having more words tends to make emotions easier to recognize and talk about.
